Abstract

234,219. Stewart, J. March 15, 1924.. Buoys; suspended-way apparatus. - A life-saving appliance for use on a line between a ship in distress and the shore &c. is in the form of a collapsable bucket - shaped canvas bag 5 with a wooden floor, and with suspending ropes 7 the lower ends of which are secured to the floor and the upper ends to a suspension member 8. The device is provided with a lid comprising three semicircular pivoted members 10, 11, 12 over which is canvas &c. 9 preferably provided with air-holes 14. The bag is provided with a buoyant rim 15.
