Body attachments, buoyant.- In an appliance of the textile garment type having armholes, back and front buoyant compartments, drawstrings or like fastenings and pads to engage under the chin to keep the mouth above water, the buoyant compartments are of uniform width and thickness and have projecting pads at their upper or at both ends. Draw-strings 4, 5, Fig. 1, secure and adjust the appliances, and the compartments 2, which may be filled with kapok or the like, have projections removed from the outer corners and projections a, b, formed so as to support the chin to an extent depending upon which way the appliance is worn. The compartments 2 may be so placed that equal support is given when the appliance is worn upside-down, and the centre of buoyancy is not affected. The projections may also be provided on the back compartments. When the front compartments f, Fig. 4, contain cork blocks, kapok-filled parts g are provided.
