364,409. Washing-machines; washing-boilers. FABER, G., 27, Gartenstrasse, Botnang, Stuttgart, Germany. Feb. 26, 1931, No. 6087. Convention date, Sept. 1, 1930. [Class 138 (ii).] A washing-machine or boiler comprises a central vessel a which contains the washing &c. and is housed in a jacket c which is open to the atmosphere at the top. The bottom of the central vessel communicates with the jacket through apertures u. The removable cover e of the central vessel carries a casing f, g wherein a motor h and fan casing i are resiliently supported by springs n and a rubber ring k which rests on an internal flange m. The casings f, i are provided with apertures q, p respectively. An adjustable valve r controls the degree of vacuum in the vessel and a fabric filter plate o prevents suds &c. from rising into the motor and fan casings. The suction of the fan draws liquid from the jacket into the central vessel until the liquid seal is broken whereupon air passes into the central vessel and reduces the vacuum so that the liquid seal is re-established and an oscillation of the liquid and materials in the central vessel produced.
