365,823. Washing-machines motor casings. HUZENLAUB, E. G., 2, Holmes Road, Twickenham, Middlesex. Feb. 10, 1931, No. 4200. Convention date, Oct. 16, 1930. [Class 138 (ii).] The electrically operated circulating pump k of a washing-machine is arranged within the periphery and beneath the upper edge of the washing vessel and the downwardly directed inlet c of the rinsing-water is arranged within an auxiliary chamber r in front of the inlet to the pump and which is closed by a grating e. The discharge aperture for the rising-water is arranged in a second chamber t and may include a removable overflow pipe w as shown. The rinsing-water is supplied in the vicinity of and is directed towards the vanes of the pump. The cap b, Fig. 5, of the casing q of the motor driving the pump partially encloses the casing and is spaced therefrom and provided with ventilation apertures z. The lower end u of the casing is formed with an internal flange y within which the ball bearing of the motor shaft is received, and with an external flange which rests upon a layer x of heat-insulating material such as asbestos.
