Abstract
A dry-cleaning machine as described in the parent Specification consists of a partially perforated cylinder A which rotates within stationary cylinder B and is provided with V-shaped plates d co-operating with internal <PICT:0805624/III/1> extensions of the imperforate section A2 of the cylinder A to cause liquid to flow from the casing B into the perforated lifters D. Liquid thus introduced into the cylinder A mixes with the clothes and is able to escape from the cylinder A through the perforated section A1 into the annular space between tank J and the cylinder A, where it is caused by the vanes a1 to flow either through vent j2 or through vent j3, depending on the direction of rotation of the cylinder. From tank J the liquid can flow through vent k1 into tank K over weir k3 and through vent k2 back into casing B. In a modification, the vents j2, j3 are replaced by a supplementary tank which follows the inner contour of tank J and has open vents at its two ends at the levels of j4 and j5 and a vent at its base connecting it to tank J.ALSO:<PICT:0805624/IV (c)/1> A dyeing-machine as described in the parent Specification consists of a partially perforated cylinder A which rotates within stationary cylinder B and is provided with V-shaped plates d co-operating with internal extensions of the imperforate section A2 of the cylinder A to cause liquid to flow from the casing B into the perforated lifters D.
