Abstract

844,755. Washing-machines. ROTHENBERGER, J. July 12, 1956 [July 12, 1955], No. 21638/56. Class 138 (2). [Also in Group XIII] A rotary washing drum 1 has a perforated dividing wall 8, and a front wall 3 with a loading opening 5 surrounded by openings 6 forming an overflow for liquid during washing and rinsing. Water and detergents supplied through pipes 12, 13 respectively may be heated by an electric heater 14. The front wall 3 may have additional openings 16 around its circumference. Spin-drying openings 17 are closed during washing and rinsing by a two-part ring 18, the two halves of which are interconnected by tension springs (Fig. 2, not shown) and move apart to uncover the openings 17 during centrifuging. In a modification liquid is supplied to the laundry compartment 7 direct and the drum 1 heated from outside.
