[Class 18.] The lid of a powder distributing canister &c. comprises a perforated disc a, permanently attached to the body of the container with a row of tongues a3 formed integrally in the flat surface of the disc beyond the circumference of the outer row of perforations a<2> therein, a closure disc b<1> which covers the perforations being held in position by the tongues engaging its edge. The closure disc is of thin strawboard, sheet metal, &c., and the ends of the tongues a<3> are bent over the edge thereof. After this disc has been attached the container is filled from the bottom. The perforated disc a is made from tin plate in dished form, the area of the depressed portion being equal to that of the mouth of the container, and the edge a<1> of the disc is flanged or beaded over the top edge of the container which is made of strawboard &c.
