Abstract
359,338. Fluid-actuated valves. IONIDES, A. C., 34, Porchester Terrace, Bayswater, London. Jan. 29, 1931, No. 2935. [Class 135.] A valve device for controlling the flow of two fluids and actuated by the pressure of the two fluids acting on opposite sides of a single actuating member has the weight of the moving parts counterbalanced by a weight. Two oppositely acting double' beat valves k<4>, k<5> are connected by a rod l to a bell c dipping in a liquid seal d<1> and adapted to work between stop plates h, k<3> shaped to correspond with the upper surface of the bell. The upper plate is clamped between the parts d, e of the casing and the lower one forms part of an inner partition forming the seal chamber. The spindle ! l is guided at m and m<1> and is coupled by a band s to a quadrant on the shorter arm of a lever r, the counterweight being connected to a similar quadrant on the longer arm.
