Abstract
sym - Diphenylcarbamide - 4 : 41 - distibinic acid, which possesses therapeutic properties, is prepared by treating p-aminophenylstibinic acid with carbonyl chloride or by interaction of p-aminophenylstibinic acid with urea under certain conditions. The latter reaction is effected by suspending moist p-aminophenylstibinic acid, prepared from 1,7 parts by weight of sodium p-acetylaminophenylstibinate, in 102 parts by weight of a 2,2 per cent solution of urea in water, heating at 80 DEG C. for 2 hours, allowing to stand for 15 hours, and precipitating the product with alcohol. Examples are given.
