[Class 35.] Exciting.-A separately excited direct - current generator 1 for arc welding &c. is provided with a back-compounding winding 4 in the load circuit and a choke 7 in the exciting circuit. The choke 7 may be tapped and may in some cases allow a stabilizing choke in the welding circuit to be dispensed with.
