Abstract
357,274. Carrier tricycles. MOCOGNI, G., MOCOGNI, J., and MOCOGNI, R.., 42, High Street, Gorseinon, Swansea. June 28, 1930, No. 19675. [Classes 136 (i) and 136 (iii).] In a carrier tricycle of the type in which the front fork and wheel of an ordinary motor bicycle are replaced by a two-wheeled box carrier, the carrier frame comprises two longitudinal bars 1, 2 and 6, 4, which are connected to the front of the cycle frame, as by tubes 9, and are extended rearwardly and connected, as by clamps 7, to the rear fork of the cycle. A cross bolt 8 also connects the longitudinal bars to the engine mounting. The central part of the front axle 36 is downwardly bent and connected to the carrier frame bars 2, 4 by semi-elliptic leaf springs 32. The carrier box 38 is bolted to lugs 39 on the bars 2, 4. The lower end of the steering stem of the motor cycle is connected by a universal joint 22 to an upright shaft 23, which is connected by levers and links 28, 27, 25, 26, 41 to the stub axles of the front wheels. A wind-screen 30 is mounted on the carrier box 38, and a folding hood 31 on the rear of the cycle frame. Front and rear wheel brakes are operated by a foot-lever 15 or a hand-lever 16, which are fixed respectively to interconnected rotary bushes 13, 14 mounted on a cross-bar 12.
