Abstract

355,444. Pressure-reducing valves. COCKBURNS, Ltd. and MAcNICOLL, D., Clydesdale Engineering Works, Cardonald, near Glasgow. July 9, 1930, No. 20766. [Class 135.] In valves the type in which opening and closing efforts are applied by springs and the low pressure on the outlet side respectively, a wall 14 is formed on the seat and an overhanging lip 13 on the disc ; also the seat is concave at 16 and the disc convex at 15. The necessary additional opening movement is given to the valve by the pressure fluid as it passes through the convergent annular nozzle between the disc and its seat.
