Abstract

355,405. D i a p h r a g m s . GRAMOPHONE CO., Ltd., Hayes, and RADFORD, A. S., 65, Ranelagh Road, Southall, both in Middlesex. June 6, 1930, No. 17678. [Class 40 (iv).] In a conical or frustoconical acoustic diaphragm a built up of a number of substantially triangular sections b, each section b comprises a portion of the diaphragm itself and, integral therewith, a portion p of a cylindrical spigot e formed at the smaller end of the diaphragm. The sections b may be formed of a light wood, such as Balsa wood, and may be united sideby-side by an adhesive, the joints being covered by adhesive tape. The thickness of the diaphragm varies uniformly from one end to the other. The cylindrical spigot t e is secured to the former of the coil c of a moving-coil loud-speaker. The diaphragm a is secured to the central pole h of a pot magnet by two flexible spiders k, l, nuts n, o, and a bolt m.
