Abstract
355,326. Pressure-relieving devices. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd., Prescot, and WELBOURN, B., The Croft, Rainhill, both in Lancashire. May 20, 1930, No. 15526. [Class 135.] Oil-immersed condensers are operated under a pressure of not less than five pounds, and preferably about ten pounds per square inch, in a tank 1 completely filled with oil, as is also the interior of a collapsable reservoir 6 of the bellows type in communication therewith. A gastight dome 5 surrounds the reservoir, and within it air or other gas is maintained at the desired pressure. An indicator 14 in a glass tube 16 is connected to the top of the reservoir 6 by a rod 15 and enables the condition of the reservoir to be observed. In a modification a bellows-type reservoir is maintained under pressure within the oil-filled tank itself.
