Abstract

369,279. Pressure-relieving devices. REYROLLE & CO., Ltd., A., Hebburn-on- Tyne, and ALLAN, A., Cragside, Ashleigh Grove, Tynemouth. Dec. 18, 1930, No. 38182. [Class 135.] To maintain a constant pressure on the insulating filling of an oil or compound-filled insulator bushing A, a flexible expansion chamber F for the filling is mounted directly on the bushing. The expansion chamber F is preferably formed as a bellows, the lower end of which is clamped by a flanged ring B to the open end of the bushing. The upper end of the bellows is closed by a cover G and carries a heavy metal cap H having a'depending tubular portion H<2> adapted to slide over an upstanding tube E formed on the flanged ring B. The bellows F may contain air or oil, the bushing A being filled with compound or oil respectively.
