Abstract

355,243. Liquid meters. PEEBLES, J., Waterworks Cottage, Dalrymple, Ayrshire. May 19, 1930, No. 15274. [Class 69 (ii).] At each extremity of its travel, the lever 9a for reversing the flow of liquid through a meter engages a ram 1, which acts to expel fluid from a cylinder 2 through restricted passages 3, 3a. Each cylinder is in communication with an air vessel 6 and also through passages 3, 3b, 3c, with a source of fluid supply; the corresponding port 3c being masked by a plug P to decrease the area available for escape of fluid during impact. The weight 8 may be of circular form and fitted with a resilient tyre 10 which is partially rotated after each impact by ratchet and pawl mechanism 16. Resilient plugs 12 are provided on each ram 1. According to the Provisional Specification the vessel 6 is provided with an air-cock.
