Abstract

232,121. Thomas, G. M. Oct. 16, 1924. Moving-chamber apparatus.-Figs. 1 and 2 show a tap for delivering measured quantities of liquid from bottles, urns, casks, barrels and the like of the kind in which a body portion containing two measuring chambers is adapted to be rotated on a taper plug having an inlet and an outlet at its upper and lower ends respectively. The body B is divided into two measuring chambers C<1>, C<2> by a partition W, and is arranged in a taper plug P furnished on one side with a port K leading to an inlet bore I in a screwed spigot S, and on the other side with a port L leading to the outlet spigot O. Each measuring-chamber is provided with an inlet port F and an outlet port E so positioned that when one chamber is in communication with the inlet passage the other compartment can empty through the outlet 0. A groove N provides a vent passage between ports M<1>, M<2> to facilitate the emptying of the compartments. A handle H is provided for operating the cock. Specification 12475/01 is referred to.
