Abstract
302,699. Martini & H³neke Maschinenbau-Akt.-Ges. Dec. 20, 1928. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 21, 1928.] Liquid-meters.- Relates to means for the operation of the distributing valve of a liquid meter by the rise in pressure when a measuring chamber is filled. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the increased pressure opens a check valve 19 and causes the compression of air in a vessel 20. On the attainment of a predetermined pressure, a valve 21 is opened and a piston 8 is moved to actuate the distributing valve 3 through a pawl 5 and ratchet wheel 4. The valve is balanced by recesses such as 31<b>, 31<c> in its plug or casing. In another form, the distributing valve 103, Fig. 5, is operated by a ratchet wheel 104 and pawl 105, the latter being mounted on a member 107<a> acted on by a spring 109 and connected to a shaft 56 carrying a pinion 57. The pinion engages racks at the bottom of recesses 65, Fig. 7, in pistons disposed in cylinders 110, 110<a>, suitably connected to a pipe leading from the air vessel and to a return pipe leading back to a storage reservoir.
