Abstract

386,410. Delivering measured qnantities. SPAETH, C., 3860E, 91st Street, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A. Dec. 9, 1931, No. 34124. [Class 102 (i).] A measuring pump for grease comprises a bucket 6 mounted in a cylinder 3 and actuated by a rack and pinion. The rod 51 is arranged within and guided by a tube 7 and the stroke is regulated by a stop 19 and an alarm device C may be fitted. A valve E is adapted to close the passage to the hose D and connect the space above the bucket to a spring loaded-relief valve F, adapted to by-pass to the suction reservoir A, and a spring-loaded plunger 35 connected to an indicator 39. The stroke volume below the bucket is greater than the measured quantity to be delivered and downward movement of the bucket causes the grease to be passed to the upper side and be compressed. When the pressure reaches a predetermined limit, the relief valve F opens and the indicator 39 shows in the slot 40. At the end of the stroke the valve E is turned and the grease is discharged to the hose D.
