354,214. Furnace walls. RÍMER, H., 19, Engerstrasse, Diisseldorf, and KARRENBERG, G., 51, Makkabõerstrasse, Cologne, both in Germany. May 2, 1930, No. 13040/31. Divided on 349,266. [Class 51 (i).] A furnace wall 3 associated with the rear of a travelling grate and carrying a sealing member 2, is provided with air-cooled casings or channels consisting, as shown in Fig. 1, of an upper channel formed of girders 8, 9 and plates 10,11, and a lower channel 13 arranged adjacent to the supporting bars 4 of the wall blocks. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the hollow bearers 16 communicate with the air channel 6 and with the furnace through passages 18. The hollow bearers 16 have angle portions 19 resting in brackets 20 and are pressed tightly against the channel 6 by the weight of wall.
