Pulverulent - fuel furnaces.-A coal dust furnace particularly for locomotives is provided with one or more, burners c<1>, C<2> having perforated nozzle plates d arranged to form a portion of the wall of the combustion chamber a. Not only the carrier air but also the greater part of the remaining air necessary for combustion passes through the burner, thus adequately cooling the perforated plates, while the bodies of the burners are cooled by the outer air.
