[Class 51 (i).] A regenerative reverberatory furnace heated by cold gas supplied through a nozzle 5 has two or more air regenerative chambers 1 arranged at each side of the furnace having a common passage 2 leading to the hearth 4, the lower part of the passage being wider at the outlet 3 from the chambers.
