129,869. Jackson, W. J. Mellersh-, (Soc. Anon. C. M. Stein et Co.). Sept. 19, 1918. Gaseous-fuel furnaces.- Open-hearth furnaces are provided with a gas-supply passage A and one or more air-supply passages D on each side of it. The gas and air ducts are separated by short independent partitions E which, in consequence of their positions, can be repaired without interrupting the working of the furnace. The roof D of the furnace joins the roof F of the gas flue behind the mouth of the ducts without vertical walls or corners. The mixing of air and gas takes place on the furnace hearth C.
