[Class 123 (ii).] A cylindrical water chamber e is arranged across the furnace flue c of an internally fired boiler in the place of the firebridge and is connected with the water space of the boiler by inlet and outlet pipes f, h entering the chamber tangentially. The pipes may open directly into the water space behind the combustion chamber b, or they may pass through boiler backplate and open into the boiler water space through stop valves supported on the back of the boiler.
