353,804. Cable and wire couplings. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES.,Siemensstadt, Berlin. Nov. 11, 1930, No. 33940. Convention date, Feb. 19. Addition to 353,315. [Class 38 (i).] A sleeve 3 for enclosing a cable or wire coupling 11 having rubber sealing plugs 5, 6 at each end that are compressed to seal the coupling as described in the parent Specification, is shaped at one or both ends so as to engage directly with the plug or plugs. If at one end only, the plug 5 at the other end is compressed by a gland 4 that screws into the sleeve at 13. If both ends of the sleeve engage the plugs, the sleeve is divided centrally into two similar parts that screw together. The coupling may comprise links 9 inserted sidewise under projections 10 and held in place by the clamping screws 8 entering recesses in the insulating base 7. Alternatively each pair of leads to be connected is clamped under a single screw.
