Abstract
351,964. Grinding. JACKSON, C. E. and HUNT, T. J., 30, Paradise Street, and TURNER, R. C., Shadwell Street, both in Birmingham. April 1, 1930, No. 10279. [Class 60.] Work - holders.- In a grinding- machine comprising an annular grinding-wheel b projecting through a table a and adjustable vertically by a hand-wheel c, the work is pressed on the grinder and is moved thereover by a pad j which engages the work and is carried adjustably by a lever d pivoted bv a horizontal trunnion member e in a fitting f rotatably secured to the table ; the lever may be clamped in the member e by a stud k so that the length of the lever may be varied. In a modification, Fig. 3, the pad n is slidably and pivotally mounted on a guide-rod p and carries a lug m freely engaged by the ]ever d; or the lever may be pivoted to the pad and slidable in the trunnion member. In either form of device, the pad may carry pegs q to engage the work, and the pegs may be detachable or adjustable.
