Abstract

351,488. Electric relays. CREED & CO., Ltd. and SALMON, R. D., Telegraph Works, Croydon. March 26, 1930, No. 9640. Addition to 302,259, [Class 38 (v), Electric switches &c.]. [Class 38 (v).] Contact-making relays. - In the form of relay described in the parent Specification in which the permanent polarizing magnet is held on the fixed polepieces by means of its own magnetic attraction, in order to vary the value of the polarizing field an adjustable screw is arranged to bear on the permanent magnet to tilt it on the polepieces. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the permanent polarizing magnet 1 is held on the polepieces 2, 3 by its own magnetic attraction. A screw 4 adjustable by a head 5 in the side of the relay casing 6 bears against the extended middle portion of the magnet 1 so introducing an adjustable wedge-shaped air gap between the magnet and polepieces and varying the value of the polarizing field.
