Abstract
1,220,861. Remanent electromagnetic relays. NIPPON TELEGRAPH & TELEPHONE PUBLIC CORP. and NIPPON ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 29 April, 1968 [27 April, 1967], No. 20112/68. Heading H1N. A polarized remanent relay has at least one reed contact unit 1 with centrally overlapping reeds and a remanent member 2 extending along the length of both reeds, an energizing coil 4 surrounding the remanent member 2 in the region of one reed and a permanent magnet 5 coupled to the remanent member in the region of the other reed. Two co-extensive remanent members 2, 2<SP>1</SP> and permanent magnets may be provided. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 2, not shown) the coil may closely surround one end of the remanent member and the contact units extend parallel thereto. A screening shunt 3 may be provided.
