Abstract
350,741. Turnbutton fastenings. PARKER, WINDER, & ACHURCH, Ltd. and THOMPSON, H., Broad Street, Birmingham. June 24,1930, No. 19182. [Class 44.] In a turnbutton fastening for doors or the like comprising an attachment member 1, 2 and a pivotally mounted lever arm 3 adapted to be engaged by an operating pin 24 having an actuating knob 25, a spring 21, for retaining the arm 3 in any set position, bears directly on the arm and is enclosed within a housing formed in the attachment member. The latter comprises two parts 1, 2 secured together by rivets 12, the inner part 1 being formed with a circular aperture 9 which provides a bearing for the boss 19 on the arm 3 and the outer part 2 having a circular portion pressed out to form the spring housing 13 and to provide shoulders 14, 15 which limit the rotational movement of the arm 3 to approximately 180‹. The boss 19 is recessed at 20 to receive one end of the spring 21 and is formed with a non-circular hole through which extends the similarly shaped operating pin 24.
