Abstract
249,563. Raymond, A. F. March 23, 1925, [Convention date]. Stud-and-slot fastenings in which the studmember carries a swivelling head for securing it in the socket, are formed by stamping from sheet metal with a shouldered part at the end of the shank of the head to retain this in the stud member without rivetting. The swivelling part c has a square shank b retained in its two positions by springs d<1>, d<2>, and a shouldered part f which engages the underside of the springs to prevent its removal. The springs d<1>, d<2> may be formed with bent parts, Fig. 3, or may be straight, Fig. 6, in which case a retaining plate g is used. Lugs i<1>, i<2> are bent up from the plate g to permit passage of the shouldered part f and are then bent back bearing only the circular hole h. A spiral spring k and recesses on the part a, Fig. 9, may be used instead of flat springs.
