Abstract

845,941. Hook fastenings. K.A.C. Ltd. Feb. 19,1959 [March 28,1958], No. 10091/58. Class 44 A fastener for securing two members together comprises an anchorage 1 adapted to be rigidly fixed to one member by rivets, &c. 2 and a hookended attachment plate 10 secured to the other member. The anchorage 1 has spaced parallel lugs 3 through which extends a pin 4 upon which is pivotally mounted a body component 5. The latter housing a slide 7 and a circular pivot post 12, the pivot post having a stud 15 eccentrically mounted in it and fitting into a slot 17 in the slide so that rotation of the pivot post causes reciprocation of the slide. The pivot post 12 extends through the body 5 and is retained axially by means of a circlip 20 fitting in a groove 19 in the latter. The portion of the post protruding through the body is bifurcated to form a pair of spaced lugs 21 between which is disposed an actuating lever 22, the lever being hinged by means of a pin 23 and an operating arm 24 being attached to the lever for easy rotation. A spring 26, retained in a recess in the body component 5 and in a recess 27 in the pivot post 12, tends to force the operating arm towards the slide member when the fastener is in the fully open or "unlocked" position, Fig. 2, and towards the anchorage when fully closed or "locked", Fig. 3, in which position the operating arm is retained by end cheeks 29 of a recess 28 (Fig. 5 not shown) formed in the boss 6.
