Abstract
349,995. Ring mills for crushing rock &c. WAKE, J. F., 123, Victoria Road, Darlington. Feb. 6, 1930, No. 3980. [Class 59.] Rock, slag, &c., is crushed between a series of unrestrained interfitting rings of different diameters which are positively driven. The rings H<1>, H<2> rest on a horizontal screen B and are enclosed in an outer ring F adapted to move radially under the constraint of springs G which abut against the casing E. An eccentric. D is fixed to a vertical shaft C driven by bevel-gearing J and imparts radial motion to the rings. Material falls between the rings when they open under the hopper N and is crushed when the rings approach one another upon rotation of the eccentric. The rings may be toothed or serrated and may be tapered or straight. The Q<1> .. Q<2> rings, Fig. 13, pass between and are driven by rollers R<1>, R<2> which may be under the constraint of springs T<1>. Specification 135,322, [Class 59, Grinding, crushing, &c.], is referred to.
