N. ; 138, Parkwood Boulevard, both in Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) June 4, 1930, No. 17287. Convention date, June 6, 1929. [Class 39 (iii).] A heating element, especially adapted to be inserted in the tubes of an electrically heated boiler, consists of a strip of metal bent into hair-pin shape and threaded through insulating supports so as to slide freely therein. A number of such elements are arranged in tubes 14 secured to a head 11 within a boiler shell 10 so as to leave an end chamber in which is supported a metal strip 37 carrying insulating clamps 36 holding the ends of the strips 16.
