[Class 138 (i).] Boot-cleaning apparatus comprises rotary brushes f mounted on a shaft a in bearings b carried by brackets c secured to a support d so that the shaft is below the level of the support d, and a short distance from the ground. Means, such as a motor operable at will, are provided for driving the shaft. A cover or guard g is provided for the exposed shaft with an extension j to meet the brush. In the ground or below the shaft a may be a well k for collecting dust.
