Abstract
345,422. Sieves. SUNDERLAND FORGE & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. and BLAIR, G., St. Luke's Road. Pallion, Sunderland. Feb. 7, 1930, No. 4250. [Class 117.] Relates to vibratory screening, consolidating, &c., apparatus of the type comprising a supporting surface a actuated at right-angles to its plane by a vibrating device d and supported on springs, and consists in suspending or supporting the surface by springs m adjustably attached to the stationary frame g and providing guides in the form of rods h pivoted to the frame for the purpose of preventing or minimizing end movement. In the construction described, the surface a is a sieve and is mounted in a rigid frame b, c. The vibratory movements are transmitted from the device d by a link e connected to a cross-bar. The rods h enter holes in the ends of the bars c of the sieve frame and are provided with nuts q between which the ends of the springs are secured. The other ends of the springs are attached to eye-bolts n adjustably mounted in brackets p. A consolidating box or tray may be substituted for the sieve a.
