Abstract

Fixed sieves.-The screen is vibrated by arms 30 carried by the bearings 29 of a sleeve 28 on two eccentric portions. disposed at an angle of 180‹ to each other on a shaft . which is mounted in bearings provided on a bar 24 passing over the top of the screen. The edges of the screen 10 are held between two strips of rubber 12 by clamps 11 which are secured by bolts 16 to side bars 15, attached to supports 19 having trunnions 20 held in clamps 21 in the fixed frame 22. The bar 24 connects the supports 19 and the trunnion on one side is hollow to take the shaft. The vibratory movements are communicated to the screen by rods 34 passing through the ends of the arms 30 and through the screen and a bar 35 secured thereto, a spring 37 being interposed between the screen and the arm and adjustment being provided by nuts 38. Where two or more screens are superposed, the rods are extended through both or all of them and distance pieces. 40 provided to maintain the correct spacing.
