Abstract
344,946. Crematory furnaces. LUDWIG, K., 65, Hansastrasse, Hamburg, Germany. Dec. 16, 1929, No. 38449. [Class 51 (ii).] A crematory or incinerating furnace having adjustable air nozzles o, p at the sides of the combustion chamber b for delivering air on to the object being burned is provided at the rear with a chamber d to which air is supplied through a passage k to complete the combustion of smoke &c. deflected downwardly into the chamber d by a depending baffle h. The combustion chamber is heated initially by gas and air supplied through channels m, n which are closed as soon as the chamber is heated up to such a temperature that combustion may be maintained by air supplied through the nozzles o, p. Residues are pushed from the combustion chamber over the bridge i on to the grate e of the chamber d.
