Abstract

344,820. Pistons. BERSEY, F. T., HARDY, E. A., and SLATER, J. P., Laystall House, Ewer Street, Southwark, London, Dec. 7, 1929, No. 37583. [Class 122 (i).] In a piston of the type in which an aluminium &c. body is cast on to iron bearing-rings 2, 7, the band 2, which has packing-ring grooves 5, has an inwardly projecting key-piece 6 in line with each gudgeonpin boss, and a dove-tail or V-groove 4 ; and the ring 7 has flanges 12 with V-grooves 13. The ring 2 has also a downwardly projecting flange with a pocket 3. The rings may be formed with notches 8, Fig. 6.
