Abstract

399,914. Cylinders. RAINBOW, G., 5, Withleigh Road, Knowle, Bristol. May 14, 1932, No. 13874. [Class 7 (ii).] A valve seating-ring 4 is secured, after insertion in a socket 3, by a continuous, but partially slit, ring 9 which is forced into a space between the ring and the socket. The side wall of the socket may be undercut, as shown, formed with a groove, or concave, the outer wall of the ring 4 having a correspond ing shape. The Provisional Specification states that the ring 9 may be of steel or bronze.
