[Class 7 (ii)] In securing a cylinder 10 to a crankcase 12 the abutting flanges have inclined surfaces 3, 4 which are engaged by corresponding surfaces in a channel ring 1, the halves of which are bolted together to procure a wedging action to force the flanges together. The half-rings may each comprise a number of pivotally connected' segments. Specification 504,204 is referred to.
