Abstract

381,179. Piston rings. WUERFEL, W., 2000, South 71st Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A. June 29, 1931, No. 18764. [Class 122 (i).] An oil scraper ring comprises two elements 5, 6 with an annular groove 7 connected by channels 8 to the space 10 connected by port 11 to the piston interior. Clearance 9 is allowed between the rings and the sides of the groove to allow a thin film of oil to be maintained therein. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 330,204, [Class 122 (i), Engine and like cylinders &c.].
