[Class 9 (ii).] For use in detonating caps, nitropentaerythrite is phlegmatized by the addition of paraffin wax, stearin, beeswax, or mineral wax, or nitrocellulose gelatinized with nitroglycerine, nitroglycol, nitrodi- or poly-glycerine or nitro-iso-butyl glycerine, or mixtures of these substances. This phlegmatized mixture may be compressed to about 800 kgs. per cm<2>.
