Abstract

A heating composition comprising a perchlorate and combustible such as a metal is phlegmatized by the addition of resin or paraffin wax for use in heating carbon dioxide and like blasting p cartridges. An example contains potassium perchlorate 68 parts by weight, aluminium 27 parts, and paraffin wax 5 parts. The composition may be wrapped in kraft paper.
