Abstract

343,145. Heating water by electricity. JACKSON BOILERS, Ltd., 83, Kirkstall Road, and BARROW, A. G., 50, Shaftesbury Avenue, Roundhay, both in Leeds. Nov. 14, 1929, No. 34811. [Class 39 (iii).] Relates to urns or the like provided with an automatic feed and fitted with an immersion heater 13 surrounded by a sleeve 14 extending from the base to above the water level and having an inlet 25 and a draw-off tap. The sleeve is divided into upper and lower portions 19,18 by a partition 17 carrying an expansion pipe 20 having its outlet above the water level. The draw-off tap 24 is fitted to the upper portion 19. A second draw-off tap may be fitted to the lower portion. The sleeve may be surrounded by an air jacket 16 and may be provided with a detachable perforated cap 21 formed with diverting means 22. Outlet and inlet pipes 28, 27 are fitted to the upper and lower portions of the sleeve respectively. A baffle 12 is arranged in front of the inlet 9 to the urn.
