342,317. Printing-machines. MELDRUM, T. S., Kennoway, Kentish Lane, Brookman's Park, Hertfordshire, and LEWIS, F. C., 44, Coram Street, London. July 27, 1929, No. 23157. [Class 100 (ii).] Inking-apparatus.- In an intaglio printing-machine, the carrier for the doctor blade is mounted in bearings movable while the machine is running to vary the angularity of the blade, the movement of the bearings in one direction being effected positively against the action of an opposing force. In one form, the blade f is carried by a spindle a mounted on bearings in a pair of plates c angularly adjustable about trunnions d by means of a screw i and an opposed spring h<1>. The plates are clamped after adjustment by studs g engaging quadrant slots c<1>. Consequential angular adjustment of the spindle a in its bearings may be effected by any suitable means. In another form, sliding members are employed instead of angularly adjustable plates c.
