Abstract

354,832. Inking apparatus. LINOTYPE & MACHINERY, Ltd., 9, Kingsway, London, and SPENCE, F., Barwick House, Washway Road, Ashton-on-Mersey. May 16, 1930, No. 15066. [Class 100 (ii).] In rotary intaglio printing-machines, the gear driven inking roller 4 is mounted in brackets 7 pivoted at the axis of the driving wheel 11, whereby the roller may be adjusted independently of the ink trough 5, within which it rotates, without disturbing the gear trains 13, 14, 15. Stops 25, 26 on the operating lever 9 limit the swing of the roller, fine adjustment of which relative to the plate cylinder 3 may be effected by a nut 22. The ink trough 5 is secured by spring clips 28 to rails 27 which may be raised or lowered bv handcperated gearing 33, 31. adapted to be locked in any c.esired position. In the lowered position the clips 28 contact with a plate 27a and release the trough which may then be removed along the slide 30.
