Abstract

Articles hardened by nitrogenization are made from steel alloys free from aluminium and containing 0,05-1,7 per cent of carbon and a total of 3,1-8 per cent of one or more of the following elements: silicon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, vanadium, titanium, and zirconium, with or without nickel and copper.
