Abstract
341,460. Ventilating systems. SABARTHEZ, H. F. O., 28, Rue Chalgrin, Paris. Sept. 16, 1929, No. 28091. Convention date, Aug. 6. [Class 137.] Forced ventilation; air, heating, cooling, and conditioning; ventilating conduits, pipes, arrangements and adaptations of.-In a method of ventilating and attemperating the atmosphere in premises of any kind air is withdrawn from the premises and passed through a heating (or cooling) device by the ejector action of a quantity of air at high pressure consisting of purified air from the premises and fresh air, the whole of the conditioned air under pressure then being supplied to the premises through distributing nozzles in such manner that it entrains and puts into slow circulation large masses of the air in the premises. Air drawn from the outside atmosphere and from the premises by pipes 3,4 respectively passes through purifying devices such as a filter 5 and ozonizer 6 and is supplied under pressure by means of a blower 1 or the like to a chamber 9 ending in a venturi 10, 15 into which leads the concentric conical end 11 of a conduit 12 communicating through a heating or cooling device 13 with the premises. The air under pressure in the chamber 9 emerges therefrom in the form of an annular sheet and entrains air from the pipe 12 said air taking the form either of a solid core or, preferably of an annular sheet, the latter being obtained by means of a double cone device 14. This conditioned air under pressure is supplied by conduits 16, 18 to various parts of the premises and emerges from outlet nozzles 19, each comprising an aperture in the conduit, 18 provided with a neck 20, a short open-ended pipe 21 being situated crosswise of the conduit and concentric with the neck 20. The air from the conduit issues in the form of an annular sheet and entrains the air of the premises through the pipe 21. A branch pipe 17 and throttles 25, 26, 28 enable the apparatus to be used for rapid heating or cooling of the premises. By closing the throttles 25, 28 and opening the throttle 26 all the air forced into the premises is first drawn from the premises and passed through the attemperating device 13.
