Abstract
291,881. Robinson & Son, Ltd., T., and Robinson, C. J. March 11, 1927. Conditioning and drying grain &c.-The closed air circuit in apparatus as described in Specificaton 238,375 for supplying air to grain and comprising ducts b, c, conditioning column a, return conduit d, mixing box e, fan g, and air heater h is provided with a cyclone dust collector f to remove beeswing or fine dust. The mixing box e is also connected to a pipe i through which cold air traversing the lower part of the column a is drawn by a fan j, such air being discharged through a conduit k and a dust collector l. A pair of interconnected valves n, o, actuated by a hand-lever, controls the flow of air and permits fresh air to be introduced into the normal closed circuit or used air to be withdrawn therefrom. Fresh air may also be introduced through a valve g. The inlet and outlet ducts on the conditioning column may be reversely tapered to ensure an even flow of air at all parts of the column. In the Provisional Specification it is stated that the gases may be moistened by injecting steam into the hot air.
