Abstract
404,427. Ventilators. WASSMUTH, KURTH, & CO. AKT.-GES., 19, Grafenmuhlonweg, Dellbruck, Cologne, Germany. Oct. 27, 1932, No. 30166. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1931. [Class 137.] A device for distributing air for ventilation comprises a series of open-ended coaxial truncated pyramidal deflecting members forming air passages therebetween and having the smaller ends facing the inlet end of the device and a casing b disposed so as to discharge air into the said passages, the side walls of the casing having openings c through which surrounding air is drawn in and entrained by the air flowing through the casing. The deflecting members T<1>-T<5> are connected together by bars H which are attached to an annular plate T‹ formed at its outer edge with a deflector i to prevent a flow of air from the uppermost passage direct to the openings c. The casing b is attached to the plate T<6> and also to the supply conduit a. The inner ends of the deflecting members may be of such relative dimensions that in the projection of the ends on a plane at right angles to the axis, the annular areas are all equal, whore equal air distribution is required or decrease towards the centre where a greater distribution towards the sides of the room is required. The inlet end of the inner deflecting member T<1> may be made small enough to prevent the entry of air, the air flowing around the member then producing a suction and an inward flow of air therethrough.
